What part (or angle of a part/frame/etc.) are you most particular about one your bike?
I really like the height on the front end. Upsweep of the bars and top load stem. I feel much more upright and not all crunched up on my bike. Short Rear end is a plus, too. Easy to pickup manual, also just flat ground hopping in general it works to your advantage.
Got any sort of opinion on plastic pegs?
I’m Stuck in my old ways. I like metal pegs. Its just doesn’t seem right to have all your weight relying on a plastic sleeve with an aluminum core. Sure, you can grind whatever you want, but there’s just something about that metal-to-concrete or metal-to-metal sound that is BMX.
Is an all black bike your go-to?
Yes Sir! You can never go wrong with a black bicycle, but you can really blow it with a white bicycle.
You’ve been actively filming for the Dan’s Comp DVD, how’s that going?
Its going great for me. Luckily I’ve been on quite a bit of trips so far. Its always rad working on a project with Stew Johnson. The only down fall to this video is, Trying to fork out a part or even clips from each dude on the team. Team is stacked and im sure people are busy with other projects as well. The deadline is approaching real soon. Should be interesting to see the outcome!
Rumors of a Sunday video are floating about, too. Have you guys started up on that?
Yeah there’s been talk of it! I recently got a camera and have been gathering up footage any chance i get.
What part do you go through most often?
Tire or grips usually. Nothing to exciting [laughs].
How do you like those Tree straight-pull hubs?
I really like what Tree has going on. Those hubs basically lace themselves. Also, they don’t have to break in like J spokes do. Haven’t had any problem with them so far. It’s good to support a rider-owned and operated company; that’s seems like a dying breed in BMX nowadays.
